Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 August 2026
Incipit is a reading app. It holds libraries of ten pieces of music, an essay about each one, and a recommendation of which recording to go and hear.
The short version: the app collects nothing. It has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and does not send anything about you anywhere. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Everything the app remembers is stored on your own device, and you can erase all of it from inside the app.
This policy is short because there is very little to say. That is deliberate.
WHO WE ARE
Incipit ("we", "us") is the provider of the Incipit mobile application. You can reach us at ezrawademusic@gmail.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Nothing.
We do not ask for your name, your email address or any other personal information. There is no sign-up, no sign-in and no account. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reporting or any other tracking. We do not know who you are, that you installed the app, or that you opened it.
The app makes no network requests of its own. Every essay, every recommendation and every piece of content is installed with the app and works with no connection at all.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
The app remembers a few things so that it is useful the next time you open it:
- Which pieces you have marked as met.
- Which library you are reading, and which piece you opened last.
All of this is written to a small database on your device and stays there. It is not sent to us and we cannot see it.
Two consequences worth stating plainly, because they cut both ways:
- Your reading is private in the strongest sense available. There is no copy of it on any server, so there is nothing for us to hand over, lose, or be compelled to disclose.
- It is not backed up by us. If you delete the app, reset your device, or move to a new one, that record is gone and we cannot restore it. Your device's own backup, if you use one, may include it.
ERASING IT
Open Incipit, then Settings, and choose "Clear my progress". This removes everything the app remembers about your reading from the device, immediately and permanently. The ten pieces and their essays stay, because they are part of the app.
Deleting the app removes everything as well.
You do not need to contact us to do either, and there is no account for us to close, because there isn't one.
LINKS TO OTHER SERVICES
Each piece names a specific recording and offers to open it in Spotify. Choosing that opens Spotify, either in the app on your device or in your browser. Nothing is streamed or stored inside our app, and no Spotify account is required to use ours. Once you follow such a link you are on Spotify, and their privacy policy applies rather than this one.
We have no commercial relationship with Spotify or with anyone else. There are no affiliate links in this app.
CHILDREN
The app is rated 12+. Since it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change it we will update the date at the top. A version of the app that collected personal information would require a different policy from this one, and we would say so clearly rather than quietly amending this page.
